Book submissions do not appear in the queue

Why submissions not tied to a journal, such as books, chapters and theses, do not appear in the editor queue, and how to fix it.

Submissions not tied to a journal are visible only to editors whose role was granted for the whole platform. Book, book chapter, proceedings paper, thesis and children's book submissions belong to this group. If your role was granted for one journal, you do not see these submissions.

Solution

If you need to work on these submissions, ask your system administrator to grant your role for the whole platform. Granting roles is described in Granting and Revoking Roles.

Filtering these submissions

Editors authorised for the whole platform list only these submissions with the Without a journal (books, chapters, theses …) option of the Journal filter in the queue. The journal column of these submissions shows Books and other submissions.
