Feature
Editorial Work and Decisions
Following submissions in the queue, screening them, inviting reviewers, issuing decisions and corresponding with authors.
Editors follow submissions on the Editorial → Editor queue screen. A submission goes through screening, moves on to peer review and ends with a decision. The Next step card on the submission's page says what needs to be done at that moment.
The Section editor screens submissions, invites reviewers, corresponds with the author and records a decision recommendation. The Editor-in-chief also issues the final decision, assigns editors to submissions and manages the journal settings. The System administrator cannot issue final decisions. If a role was granted for one journal, only that journal's submissions are visible.
If the system administrator has made two-factor authentication mandatory for editorial roles, your editor permissions do not work until you set it up. The set-up is described in Using Two-Factor Authentication. Start by getting to know the Editor Queue screen.
