If the system administrator has turned on institutional sign-in, the sign-in screen shows a button for signing in with an institution account. The administrator sets the button's name. If no name was given, the button says Sign in with your institution account.

  1. On the sign-in screen, press the button for signing in with an institution account.
  2. On your institution's sign-in page, sign in with your user account. This page can be, for example, a Microsoft or Google page or your institution's own sign-in page.
  3. If two-factor authentication is on for your account, enter the code from your app.

The system signs you in to the JournTech account whose e-mail address is the same as that of your institution account. Your Remember me choice applies to this sign-in too. The first sign-in to an existing account with an institution account is reported by e-mail.

If you do not have an account

If the administrator has turned this option on, an account is created automatically for your institutional address, and you start with the Registered researcher role. If this option is off, first register with the steps in Creating an Account.

When sign-in does not complete

  • If your institution account's e-mail address is not in one of the domains open to institutional sign-in, you cannot sign in.
  • If your institution did not send your e-mail address or did not report that the address is verified, you cannot sign in.
  • If the account has already been linked to another institution account, the sign-in is refused. In that case contact your system administrator.
  • Locked or disabled accounts cannot sign in with an institution account either.
