Notifications
Reading system notifications about submissions, reviewing and your account at the bell and on the Notifications screen, marking them as read, and how they relate to e-mails.
The Notifications screen lists the system notifications about your submissions, your reviewing work and your account. The Notifications link in the user menu or the All notifications link below the bell opens the screen.
Bell
The bell in the top bar opens your last six notifications. The number of unread notifications appears on the bell. Pressing a notification marks it as read and opens the related page. The Mark all as read link marks all notifications as read.
Parts of the screen
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| All and Unread tabs | Show all notifications or only the unread ones. |
| The subject of the notification | Pressing it opens the text of the notification and marks it as read. |
| Open the related page | Opens the page the notification is about. |
| Mark as read | Marks the notification as read. |
| Mark all as read | Sits at the top of the screen and marks all notifications as read. |
Unread notifications are marked in the list. Each page holds 20 notifications.
Notifications and e-mails
Notifications about submissions, reviewing and the publishing process appear at the bell and on this screen. Most notifications also arrive by e-mail. System e-mails carry no submission, report or message content and only link to the panel. The language of the e-mails follows your Interface and e-mail language choice on the My profile page.
In an installation where e-mail sending is turned off, the system administrators pass on the verification, invitation and password links.
