Opening a production job by hand, assigning the production lead, and entering the planned release date and notes for the team.

Manage production jobs and tasks

As soon as an editor accepts a submission, a job with the default checklist opens for the work. The production team and the author are notified.

Opening a job by hand

If no job opened automatically for an accepted submission, you open it yourself.

  1. On the Editorial → Production screen, press Open job.
  2. Select the submission in the Accepted submission list.
  3. Press Open job in the dialog.

The dialog lists the accepted submissions in your scope that have no job, with their number, journal or type, and title. If the submission already has a job, the dialog says so and shows the Open the existing job link.

Job details

  1. Open the job from the board.
  2. On the Job details card, select the lead in the Production lead list.
  3. In Planned release date, enter when the work is planned to be released.
  4. Optionally write a note for the team in Notes.
  5. Press Save.

The assigned lead gets a notification. The list holds the users who can see production jobs for the journal of the job. A job that is not released by its planned date counts as overdue on the board.

Assigning the tasks is described in Managing Tasks.
