Troubleshooting
File uploads fail
If uploads fail on every screen, checking the file storage and turning file uploads off until the problem is fixed.
If uploads fail on every screen, check the file storage first. Turn file uploads off while the storage problem lasts.
- On the Administration → System health screen, open the Health tab.
- Look at the File storage tile.
- If the tile says Problem, turn off the File uploads flag on the Site settings → Features tab.
- Repair the file storage together with the team that runs the installation.
- When the problem is fixed, turn the File uploads flag back on.
While the flag is off, no file can be uploaded from any screen, and files that are already uploaded still open. Every change to the flag is written to the audit log.
Files are waiting for the scan
If the Virus scanner tile says Problem, uploads are accepted, but the files wait for the virus scan and nobody can open them. Scan jobs are retried in the background. A scan job that has used up its last attempt is queued again by itself within 15 minutes, so the files are scanned without anything done by hand once the scanner works again. The symptoms on the file's own screen are described in A file stays in scanning or quarantine.
The storage is open to anonymous access
If the File storage tile says WARNING: the bucket allows anonymous access, the file storage is open to anonymous access. In that case, close the storage at once together with the team that runs the installation. The details of the health tab are in System Health Screen.
