Review and submission periods
| Field | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Review period (days) | 21 | The time a reviewer gets to write the report if the editor gives no other period in the invitation |
| Invitation response period (days) | 7 | The time a reviewer gets to answer the invitation if the editor gives no other period in the invitation |
| Reminder (days before the deadline) | 3 | How many days before the response and report deadlines the reviewer is reminded |
| Submission number prefix | JT | The prefix of the submission number, for example JT in the number JT-2026-00042 |
The report period can be 1 to 180 days, the response period and the reminder 1 to 60 days. These are the limits a reviewer invitation accepts. A period saved outside them before is pulled to the nearest limit in an invitation.
How review periods and reminders work is described in Reviewer Deadlines and Reminders.
The submission number consists of the prefix, the year and a five-digit sequence number. The sequence starts at 1 for each year and each prefix. When you save the prefix, it is changed to capital letters, and Ç, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ş and Ü are written as C, G, I, O, S and U. If you enter ÇOMÜ, the prefix becomes COMU. Characters other than letters of the Latin alphabet and digits are dropped. If no letter or digit is left, the prefix is not saved. Numbers already given stay the same when the prefix changes.
Revision, production and ODİS reminders
| Field | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Minor revision period (days) | 30 | The time an author gets for a minor revision if the editor chooses no other period with the decision |
| Major revision period (days) | 60 | The time an author gets for a major revision if the editor chooses no other period with the decision |
| Revision reminder (days before the due date) | 3 | How many days before the revision deadline the author gets one e-mail and one panel notification |
| Production task reminder (days before the due date) | 3 | How many days before a task's due date the person who took the task is reminded |
| ODİS upload reminder (days after the issue was published) | 14, 45 | How many days after an issue is published its journal's editors are reminded to upload it to ODİS, the upload system of TR Dizin (Türkiye's national journal index) |
Revision periods can be between 7 and 365 days. If you enter 0 for the revision or production task reminder, no reminder is sent. Separate the ODİS days with commas. You can enter at most 6 days, each between 1 and 365. If you leave the field empty, no ODİS reminder is sent. If a deadline is extended, a new reminder is sent for the new deadline.
KVKK deletion and retention
The Retention of files of rejected and withdrawn submissions (days) field is 730 days by default and cannot be less than 30 days. When an account is anonymised under KVKK (Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law), the files of its rejected and withdrawn submissions that are past this period are deleted. Drafts that were never submitted are deleted with their files regardless of the period. The details are in Anonymising an Account.
Operations alerts
Every operations alert also goes by e-mail to the addresses in the Alert e-mail addresses field. Write one address per line. Up to 10 addresses can be given. After saving the addresses, you can send a test alert with the Send a test alert button.
The Alert threshold (actions) field is 5 by default and the Window (minutes) field is 10 minutes by default. An alert is created when, within the window, more records than the threshold are unpublished, retracted or deleted after having been published. Entering 0 as the threshold turns the alert off. The alerts are explained in Operations Alerts.
Catalogue and institutional content rules
| Switch | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Journal issues need a date to be published | On | An issue cannot be published until its volume, number, year and publication date are entered. Turn it off to publish old issues whose date is unknown. |
| Institutional content is published after review | Off | Institutional content is published only from review, and the person who sent it to review cannot publish it. |
| Catalogue records are published after an editor's approval | Off | A catalogue record is published only from review and only by a catalogue editor other than the one who sent it to review. |
The last two rules are explained in Four-Eyes Principle. Releasing an accepted submission from production to publication, the DergiPark harvest and bulk import are not affected by the catalogue rule.
