How-to
Editing an E-mail Template
Changing the Turkish or English subject and text of an e-mail the system sends, previewing it, turning it off or resetting it to the default.
The Turkish and English templates of every e-mail the system sends are edited separately.
- Find the template on the Administration → E-mail templates screen.
- On the template's row, press Edit.
- On the language tab of the window, select Turkish or English.
- Edit the Subject and Text fields.
- Press Preview and check the result.
- Press Save.
Save saves every language you changed in one go. A language tab with unsaved changes shows a dot. If a subject or text is empty, the window opens that language's tab and marks the field. You can also open the window directly in one language by pressing the TR or EN label on the row.
While there are unsaved changes, the window closes only through its buttons. Close asks before it drops the changes.
Text and variables
The text is plain text. Variables are written as {{ name }} and appear in the Variables list next
to the window. The preview puts sample values in place of the variables.
When you delete a variable of the default text, the window lists the variables that are not used. Above all, do not
delete the {{ link }} variable, because the e-mails take the person to the panel through this link.
E-mails must not carry confidential content. Do not add the text of a submission, a review report or a message to a template. A footer with the site name and address is added to the end of every e-mail automatically.
Turning an e-mail off
If you turn off the Send this e-mail switch and save, no e-mail is sent for that event in that language. The in-panel notification is still created. In the list, Sending off appears next to the label of this language.
Resetting to the default
On a customised template, the Reset to default button appears at the bottom of the window. The button deletes the customisation on the open language tab and brings back the default text. If you had turned sending off, it is turned back on as well.
Saving and resetting to the default are written to the audit log. The parts of the screen are explained in E-mail Templates.
